Wingrave with Rowsham Environmental Network
Aims and Objectives

Wingrave & Rowsham Environmental Network is a community based not for profit organisation.

Our aims are to:
Ÿ
reduce the environmental footprint of Wingrave & Rowsham residents;
Ÿ
achieve a sustainable future for the Parish.

We will work with other organisations operating in the parish to deliver these aims e.g. the WCA, the Parish Council, the local shop, schools and Aylesbury Vale District Council.

Our objectives are to:

Ÿ
to raise local awareness of climate change and other environmental issues by disseminating information holding events etc
Ÿ
to encourage the take up of energy and water efficiency measures by providing information, offering thermal imaging of houses, undertaking a village energy survey, assisting with applications for grants
Ÿ
to promote renewable energy technologies by providing information and advice on feed in tariffs and sharing knowledge
Ÿ
to reduce dependence on the car by: encouraging car and lift sharing, lobbying for improved public transport services and an improved local infrastructure to support cycling
Ÿ
to seek to influence new building in the parish to incorporate carbon neutral and water conservation measures.
Ÿ
to encourage local food production and procurement by helping households to grow more of their own food, developing local food exchange schemes
Ÿ
to minimise and reduce waste generated in the parish by promoting recycling and composting, developing a village recycling directory, setting up an exchange scheme for unwanted items (i.e. Freecycle scheme)
